Tiana Metuarau
Tiana Metuarau is a New Zealand netball player who plays for Central Pulse in the ANZ Premiership and for the New Zealand national team. She was born on 15 January 2001 in Stevenage, England, and moved to New Zealand with her family when she was three. She is 1.83 meters tall and plays GA, GS, or WA. Her mother, Waimarama Taumaunu, is a former NZ netball international and coach, and her father, George Metuarau, is a former rugby coach. She has two siblings, Tuakana and Tanara.
Metuarau began her career with Central Zone (2016–2017) and then joined Central Pulse, helping them win the 2018 Super Club title and the 2019 and 2020 ANZ Premiership titles. She spent 2021 with Southern Steel before returning to Pulse in 2022, when she was named co-captain and helped Pulse win a third ANZ Premiership title. She made her senior New Zealand debut on 20 September 2021 against England, scoring 17 from 19 and earning player of the match.
As a junior, she represented New Zealand at schoolgirl level and was part of the NZ under-21 team that won the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup in Botswana. She has earned 10 caps for New Zealand.
