Hovea densivellosa

Hovea densivellosa is a flowering plant in the legume family that is native to Queensland, Australia. It grows as a shrub up to about 2.5 meters tall. The name densivellosa comes from the dense, velvet-like hairs on the undersides of the leaves.

Taxonomy: It was formally described in 2001 by Ian R. Thompson, based on specimens collected in Hinchinbrook Channel National Park north of Ingham by Anthony Bean in 1991.

Distribution and habitat: It grows in forest on granite slopes or flat ground, mainly in northern Queensland from Windsor Tableland north of Cairns to Ingham in the south, with some separate populations.
