The Saviour is an oil painting by El Greco made between 1608 and 1614. It measures 72 cm by 55 cm and is in the Museo del Prado, Madrid. The picture shows Christ as the savior of the world, with a globe under his left hand. It blends Byzantine-style imagery with Counter-Reformation painting. It was part of a series called the apostolado, showing Christ and the 12 Apostles for a church in Almadrones, Guadalajara, based on works in Toledo Cathedral. Not all 13 paintings survived.
