The Pulitzer at 100 is a 2016 American documentary directed by Kirk Simon. It explains the history and impact of the Pulitzer Prize, which began in 1917 after newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer left money to Columbia University to establish a journalism school and the prizes. The film features interviews with winners such as Paula Vogel, Tony Kushner, and Ayad Akhtar, and it highlights the Gianakos-Safos Collection, a private archive of Pulitzer-winning works. Director Kirk Simon says he was inspired to make the film after learning these stories and about the collection. The film premiered at the Denver International Film Festival on November 6, 2016, and later screened in New York on July 21, 2017 at Lincoln Plaza Cinema. It holds a 22% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 9 reviews.
