Jimmy Adams (footballer)
Jimmy Adams (James Arthur Adams) was an English footballer born in Stoke-on-Trent on 2 August 1937. He played as a full-back.
He started as a youth with Wolverhampton Wanderers before signing for Port Vale in 1956. At Vale he was moved from wing-half to full-back. His only first-team game for Port Vale came in a 4-1 defeat at Brentford on 26 April 1958. He left Vale in 1960 and joined Crewe Alexandra, but did not play for their first team.
In February 1961 he moved to Macclesfield Town in the Cheshire County League. He made 46 league appearances and 12 cup appearances, and he debuted for Macclesfield against Crewe Alexandra Reserves in the Cheshire Senior Cup on 4 February. His career ended due to a knee injury in October 1963. While at Macclesfield, he worked as a draughtsman at ROF Radway Green.
Adams died on 30 December 2005 in Stoke-on-Trent, aged 68.
