Tatsuya Ueda
Tatsuya Ueda (born October 4, 1983) is a Japanese singer and actor from Kanagawa. He joined the talent agency Johnny & Associates in 1998 and debuted in the pop group KAT-TUN in March 2006 with the single Real Face. KAT-TUN disbanded in April 2025. The group’s name originally came from the members’ family names, and after several members left, Ueda’s name contributed the “T.” From 2016 onward, KAT-TUN was described as standing for Kazuya KAmenashi, TaTsuya Ueda, and Yuichi Nakamaru.
Ueda is also an amateur boxer, a hobby he has pursued since around 2007. He began a solo concert career with MOUSE PEACE in 2008, followed by MOUSE PEACE uniting with FiVe TATSUYA UEDA LIVE in 2010, and he announced MOUSE PEACE 2024, which started in January 2024.
As an actor, Ueda has performed on stage and appeared in television. He played Romeo in Romeo and Juliet in 2009 and starred in Fuji TV’s Konkatsu! that year. He has since appeared in stage productions and TV dramas such as Runaway: Aisuru Kimi no Tame ni (2011) and Boys on the Run (2012). In 2022–23, he acted in Nemesis with Sho Sakurai, and in 2023 they worked on new songs for Ueda’s MOUSE PEACE 2024 tour.
Ueda wrote a novel inspired by his life in KAT-TUN, titled Kono koe ga todoku made, which was released on June 27, 2025. He held a Tokyo talk event on July 1 and events in Tokyo, Osaka, and Aichi on July 2, 3, and 6. He joined Instagram in February 2023, posting in both English and Japanese.
