Mucahit Bilici is an American Muslim sociologist, columnist, and Kurdish public intellectual. He was born in Silvan, Diyarbakir, Turkey. He wrote Hamal Kürt and Finding Mecca in America: How Islam Is Becoming an American Religion (2012). He is a professor of sociology at John Jay College, City University of New York, and the CUNY Graduate Center. He is also Academic Director at the Zahra Institute in Chicago.
