Stilian Chilingirov
Stilian Hadzhidobrev Chilingirov (26 October 1881 – 23 November 1962) was a Bulgarian writer, ethnographer, and public figure active from the early 20th century. He was one of the founders of the Union of Bulgarian Writers and served as its chairman from 1941 to 1944. Chilingirov researched the Bulgarian character and the origin of the population in Eastern Serbia up to Belgrade. His works include Pomoravje on Serbian Certificates (Historical Search) and studies on Serbo-Bulgarian relations from ancient times to the present. He was awarded the Serbian Order for preserving the literary heritage of the National Library of Serbia during World War I. From 1919 to 1922 he was the Deputy Director of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius National Library. He was born in Shumen, Bulgaria, and died in Sofia, Bulgaria.
