Revolution (Skillet album)
Revolution is the twelfth studio album by American Christian rock band Skillet. It was released on November 1, 2024, as Skillet’s first independent release on Hear It Loud Records. The album was recorded at Full Circle Music in Nashville and Van Howes Studio in Vancouver and produced by Brian Howes and Seth Mosley, with Korey Cooper contributing to production as well.
Clocking in at 35 minutes and 1 second, Revolution is Skillet’s shortest album to date. The cover features a flag with the Bible verse 1 Corinthians 13:13.
Theme and title: Lead singer John Cooper says the “revolution” on this record is a revolution for love—not political or militaristic. It’s about choosing love, including loving enemies.
Singles and release timeline: The first single, Unpopular, arrived with a music video on August 9, 2024. All That Matters was released on September 13, 2024, and the final single, Ash in the Wind, came out on October 18, 2024. Cooper described Ash in the Wind as a blend of Skillet’s older sound with modern rock, produced by Korey Cooper.
Reception: Critics weighed in with mixed views. Jesus Freak Hideout gave it 2 out of 5 stars, finding the album unfocused at times. Blabbermouth.net gave it 8 out of 10, praising its energy and consistency with Skillet’s style while noting some fresh elements.
