Teubner-Stiftung – Benedictus Gotthelf Teubner Foundation
The Stiftung Benedictus Gotthelf Teubner Leipzig / Dresden / Berlin / Stuttgart (Teubner Foundation) is a civil-law foundation active mainly in Leipzig, with work also in Dresden, Berlin and Stuttgart. It was founded on 21 February 2003 in the House of the Book (Haus des Buches) in Leipzig by Jürgen Weiß.
Purpose
The foundation aims to keep alive the memory of Benedictus Gotthelf Teubner, a Saxon founder, publisher, bookseller, printer, typographer and Leipzig city councilor. Its mission is to promote science and research in the spirit of B.G. Teubner.

Prizes and awards
- Since 2004: Benedictus-Gotthelf-Teubner Förderpreis (support prize)
- 2011: On the 200th anniversary of BG Teubner’s company founding (1811), the Benedictus Gotthelf Teubner Wissenschaftspreis was awarded to mathematician Hans Triebel. The ceremony took place on 21 February 2011 at the Leibniz lecture hall of the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Natural Sciences in Leipzig.
