John P. Scripps Newspaper Group
John P. Scripps Newspapers was an American newspaper chain started in 1928 by John P. Scripps, the grandson of E. W. Scripps. It was based in San Diego and mainly published papers in the western United States. In 1986 it merged with the E. W. Scripps Company (then known as Scripps-Howard).
