Sterling Davis
Sterling Davis (born October 27, 1977) is a retired American-British basketball player and former head coach of the Glasgow Rocks in the British Basketball League (BBL). He was a 6'7" forward who played college basketball at Tulane from 1995 to 1999, averaging 17.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game over four years.
Davis began his professional career in 1999 and played for teams in the Americas and Europe, including Montevideo, Central Entrerriano, Brighton Bears, London Towers, Giessen 46ers, Sheffield Sharks, and the Scottish Rocks/Glasgow Rocks from 2006 to 2015. He started as player-coach for Glasgow in 2007 and retired from playing in 2015 to focus on coaching, leaving the Rocks in May 2017 after four major finals.
He was a BBL All Star in 2002, finished as runner-up for league MVP in 2002, and earned all-league honors in 2002 and 2003. Davis scored a career-high 42 points on March 1, 2011, against the Guildford Heat. He holds both UK and USA citizenship.
