Stairclimber

A stairclimber is a trolley with wheels or tracks that helps move goods up or down stairs. They can be manual or battery-powered and come in four main styles: manual wheels, push-arm, walker, and tracked.

- Manual wheel (tri-star): Three wheels in a triangle help the trolley move on stairs. Typical load up to about 60–80 kg. Common for couriers and light deliveries. Can be hard to turn on flat ground because all wheels touch the ground at once.

- Push-arm: An arm folds out from the bottom and pushes on the step above, lifting the load as you climb. Some models have brakes to stop it from rolling off a step.

- Walker: Uses a screw thread to extend a foot that supports the load. Two moving plates let the item rise or descend stairs, and some models have extra sections for independent control. Popular for moving vending machines, arcade machines, server cabinets, and safes.

- Tracked: Electric and uses tracks like a tank. Can carry heavy loads—up to about 1,000 kg. Very capable on stairs and uneven terrain and can rotate on the spot by running tracks in opposite directions. Often includes hydraulic load balance to keep the load upright, which helps protect delicate items. Slower and bulkier, but it places no weight on the operator. Smaller tracked models are available for lighter loads.

Overall, tracked stairclimbers handle the heaviest loads, while push-arm and walker models offer more speed and easier operation. Manual tri-star wheel climbers are for lighter tasks. The best choice depends on how heavy the load is, the stairs, and how fast you need to move it.
