Geomitra moniziana is an endangered land snail that breathes air. It belongs to the Geomitridae family and is found only on the island of Madeira, Portugal. The species is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List (IUCN 3.1) and appears in Annexes II and IV of the Habitats Directive. It was first described by Paiva in 1867. It is sometimes called the Madeiran land snail, though this name can refer to other species as well.
