Stóra-Holt

Stóra-Holt is a farm in Fljót, Skagafjörður, Iceland, and a former church site. It was one of the largest properties in Fljót, extending from the Fljótaá river up to the mountains between Brúnastaða and Saurbæjar farms, including Holtsdalur valley. The mountain Holtshyrna looks over the area. A church stood in Holt until 1906, when a storm blew it away and it was not rebuilt. After the Reformation, Stóra-Holt was not a parish on its own; the priest from Barð served the church at Stóra-Holt.
