South Albury is a suburb of Albury in New South Wales, about 3 kilometres south of the city’s main business area. It covers around 6 square kilometres and had about 1,100 residents at the 2006 census.

The area is mixed use, with homes, shops and light industry. It is bordered to the north by Central Albury, West Albury and East Albury, and to the south by the Murray River and the border with Victoria. The northern boundary runs along the Hume Highway/Hume Street, while the eastern boundary follows the railway/freeway line and the western edge is Wodonga Place.

South Albury has long been prone to flooding, but flood mitigation works in the 1990s greatly reduced the risk. It sits in the Murray River floodplain.

Demographically, the 2006 population figure did not include people living south of the railway line. The most common religion was Catholic, followed by Anglican. The median weekly household income was about $699, below the national average of roughly $1,027, and the median age was 37.

Aloysius Park in South Albury is home to the Albury Hotspurs Soccer Club, which plays in the Albury Wodonga Soccer Association.

South Albury has a history of Australian Rules football. The South Albury Football Club merged with the Albury Football Club in 1953 and later reformed in 1977 to compete in a different league, continuing the suburb’s sports tradition.
