The men's 4 × 100 metre medley relay at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles was held on August 4 at the McDonald's Olympic Swim Stadium. A total of 94 swimmers from 21 nations competed. Twenty-four teams swam in the heats, with the eight fastest advancing to the final.

The United States won the gold medal and set a new world record with a time of 3:39.30. The U.S. quartet in the final was Rick Carey (backstroke), Steve Lundquist (breaststroke), Pablo Morales (butterfly), and Rowdy Gaines (freestyle). Some U.S. swimmers only competed in the heats: Dave Wilson, Richard Schroeder, Mike Heath, and Tom Jager.

Canada took the silver medal with Mike West, Victor Davis, Tom Ponting, and Sandy Goss. Australia earned bronze with Mark Kerry, Peter Evans, Glenn Buchanan, and Mark Stockwell in the final, while Jon Sieben and Neil Brooks swam in the heats.
