Sorocephalus

Sorocephalus is a genus of 11 species of flowering plants in the Proteaceae family, commonly known as powderpuffs. The name means “heaped head.” These plants are found only in South Africa’s Cape Floristic Region, especially in the winter-rainfall area of the southwestern Cape. They are small shrubs with flower heads that contain clusters of four or more flowers. Most species are threatened in the wild.
