Skreemer is a six-issue limited comic series published by DC Comics from May to October 1989. Created by Peter Milligan with art by Brett Ewins and Steve Dillon, it is set in New York 38 years after civilization has fallen. The story focuses on Veto Skreemer, a towering figure in a world where giants are rare, and his rise to power as his life intersects with the Finnegan family.

The tale is narrated by Peter Finnegan, who looks back on Veto’s life and how it affects the Finnegans’ struggle to survive. Ewins has said the work draws on gangster films like Once Upon a Time in America and The Long Good Friday, as well as James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake. The six issues have been collected into a trade paperback (ISBN 1-56389-925-6).
