This list shows, for each country, which party or coalition currently forms the government. It is presented as a table and includes a link to an overview of political parties with parliamentary representation in that country, as well as the dominant party system.

What is a political party? A political party is a group that shares a common ideology or issue and seeks power by winning elections.

Each country has its own articles that list its parties.

What does “ruling party” mean? In parliamentary systems, the ruling party is the party or coalition that has the majority (or the largest share) in parliament and usually forms the government. In some countries, the executive’s party may be different from the majority party in the legislature.
