Seeta Aur Geeta is an Indian TV drama that aired on NDTV Imagine in 2009. It’s based on the 1972 Bollywood film Seeta Aur Geeta by Salim–Javed. The show, produced by Sunil Bohra and directed by Maqbool Khan, ran from May 25 to September 25, 2009. Each episode is about 24 minutes.

Set in Mumbai, the story follows two sisters, Seeta and Geeta, who are daughters of wealthy parents but are separated as children. Their lives diverge: Geeta grows up with a maid’s family and becomes a bully, while Seeta grows up with loving parents and becomes shy. After their parents die, evil relatives take over the fortune and mistreat Seeta. The sisters meet and swap places: Geeta pretends to be Seeta to take revenge on the relatives, while Seeta lives a simple life and falls in love with Seeta’s rough friend, Raka.

The show was originally planned for 260 episodes but ended after 90 episodes. Rahil Azam was initially cast as Raka, but due to malaria he was replaced by Gaurav Dixit, and Azam’s scenes were re-shot before the premiere.
