Stacy Keach
Stacy Keach is an American actor known for his work on stage, in films, and on television since the 1960s. He was born Walter Stacy Keach Jr. on June 2, 1941, in Savannah, Georgia. He grew up with a cleft lip and palate and wears a mustache to cover the scars. He studied English and Dramatic Art at the University of California, Berkeley, earned a Master of Fine Arts at Yale, and was a Fulbright Scholar at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where he met Laurence Olivier.
Keach made his mark in Off-Broadway productions and became a prominent Shakespearean actor. He has won four Drama Desk Awards, two Helen Hayes Awards, and two Obie Awards, and he received a Tony nomination for Indians in 1969.
In film, Keach is known for Fat City (1972) and roles in The Long Riders (1980), Escape from L.A. (1996), American History X (1998), The Bourne Legacy (2012), Nebraska (2013), and Gotti (2018). He also did voice work, including Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.
On television, he is best known for playing Mike Hammer in Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer (1984–1987) and in Mike Hammer, Private Eye. He played Ken Titus on Titus (2000–2002) and has appeared on Prison Break, Two and a Half Men, Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, and Man with a Plan (season 3 onward). Since 2007 he has narrated American Greed and hosts The Twilight Zone radio series.
Keach has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (2019) and was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame (2015. He is the older brother of James Keach and the son of theater director Stacy Keach Sr.
Personal life: Keach has been married four times and has two adopted children with Małgosia Tomassi. He became a Polish citizen in 2015. He is a Roman Catholic. In 1984 he was arrested at Heathrow for cocaine, served six months in prison, and says the experience helped lead to his Catholic faith and meeting the pope. In 2017 he suffered a heart attack on stage during Pamplona but returned to perform in 2018.
