1988–89 FA Cup qualifying rounds

The 1988–89 FA Cup is the 108th season of the world’s oldest football knockout competition. Because many lower-league clubs enter, the competition starts with preliminary and qualifying rounds. Twenty-eight winners from the fourth qualifying round advance to the first round proper.

The following teams were given byes to the fourth qualifying round: Newport County, Runcorn, Kidderminster Harriers, Sutton United, Macclesfield Town, Altrincham, Welling United, Aylesbury United, Chorley, Yeovil Town, Dagenham, Bognor Regis Town, Farnborough Town, Whitby Town, Chelmsford City, Slough Town, V S Rugby, Caernarfon Town, Burton Albion and Halesowen Town.
