Second Generation of Postwar Writers
Second Generation of Postwar Writers is a label used in modern Japanese literature for writers who appeared on the postwar scene in 1948–1949. Among them, Yukio Mishima and Kōbō Abe are especially notable, with strong acclaim in Japan and abroad; at times their international reputation has surpassed their domestic one.
