The Electoral district of Belfast and Warrnambool was one of the original 16 districts for Victoria’s unicameral Legislative Council, existing from 1851 to 1856. It covered the towns of Belfast (renamed Port Fairy around 1889) and Warrnambool. In 1856 Victoria moved to a bicameral Parliament, with a Legislative Assembly (lower house) and a Legislative Council (upper house). The district initially elected one member, and the Council expanded to two members in 1853. After the change, Beaver represented Belfast in the Legislative Assembly from November 1856, and Horne represented Warrnambool in the Assembly from November 1856.
