Sebastián Fleitas
Sebastián Fleitas Miranda (25 February 1947 – 14 April 2000) was a Paraguayan footballer who played as a striker. Born in Asunción, he started at Club Libertad, debuting at 17 and earning the nickname babygol. He was the top scorer of the Paraguayan League in 1967, which led to a move to CD Málaga in 1968. He played 29 league games and scored 13 goals for Málaga.
In 1969 Real Madrid signed him. He spent several seasons there, winning the Copa del Rey in 1969–70 and the Spanish league title in 1971–72. Fleitas also scored Real Madrid's only goal in the 1971 Cup Winners' Cup Final replay in Piraeus, a 2–1 loss to Chelsea. After Real Madrid, he played for Nîmes (17 games, 4 goals), Sevilla (1973–74) and Marbella (1974–76) before retiring.
Internationally, Fleitas earned three caps for Paraguay between 1966 and 1968, scoring one goal, all in friendlies.
After retiring, he worked in football in various roles, finishing as a scout for Real Madrid. He was married to the daughter of Spanish actor Fernando Rey and lived in Madrid. He died in Madrid, aged 53, seemingly from a stroke, while alone in his apartment. Vicente del Bosque, a former Real Madrid manager, said he was “a man beloved by everyone who lived around the club.”
