Georgia Satellites is the debut studio album by the American southern rock band the Georgia Satellites. It was released in October 1986 and recorded at Axis Studios and Cheshire Sound Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. The album runs 37 minutes and 26 seconds, was released by Elektra, and produced by Jeff Glixman.

The album’s biggest hit is “Keep Your Hands to Yourself,” which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. It also features a minor hit, “Battleship Chains,” and a cover of “Every Picture Tells a Story” by Rod Stewart and Ron Wood. Most songs were written by lead singer Dan Baird; “Red Light” was co-written with Neill Bogan, and “Can’t Stand the Pain” was written by lead guitarist Rick Richards, who also sings lead on that track.

All tracks are written by Dan Baird except where noted. The album was a commercial success, earning Gold certification in February 1987 and Platinum in August 1987. “Battleship Chains” was originally written by Terry Anderson and recorded by his band The Woods; the Georgia Satellites’ cover reached number 86 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 44 on the UK charts.

The band would release two more studio albums after this one, but none matched the radio and MTV success of “Keep Your Hands to Yourself,” and they split in 1990.
