Rugby sevens at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics was held at Tokyo Stadium from July 26 to July 31, 2021. The event featured 24 teams in total—12 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams. The Games were postponed due to COVID-19, but the rugby sevens schedule kept the two tournaments consecutive: men’s competition from July 26–28 and women’s competition from July 29–31. Each day had two sessions—morning from 9:00 a.m. to noon and evening from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.—with the medal matches in the evening sessions. Tokyo Stadium, a venue used for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, hosted both the men’s and women’s tournaments.
