Bongi Ndaba (born 10 February 1972) is a South African television producer, writer, actress and playwright. She studied performing arts at the Durban University of Technology and earned a teaching degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal before moving to Johannesburg to pursue TV opportunities.

Ndaba has worked on many South African TV shows, including Generations, Generations: The Legacy, Home Affairs, Muvhango, Gaz’lam, Shreds and Dreams, Isidingo, Sokhulu and Partners, Ashes To Ashes, Society, Ring Of Lies, 4Play: Sex Tips For Girls, Izingane Zobaba, Jozi H, Uzalo, Father Christmas Doesn’t Come Here, Z’Bondiwe and Saints And Sinners. From 2012 to 2014 she was the head writer and co-producer for Generations, after eight years behind the scenes and eleven years with the show in total. As an actress, she is best known for playing Goneril in the King Lear mini-series on SABC1, adapted as Izingane Zobaba, which aired in 2008.

Her notable play Shreds and Dreams was written in 2004 and later adapted into a mini-series that began on SABC1 in 2010. Ndaba also made a mark with Isidingo, serving as head writer in 2016–2017. One controversial episode aired in April 2017, just before South Africa’s Freedom Day, and sparked discussion and complaints, though the broadcasting authority did not uphold them. Under her tenure, Isidingo reached a peak of about 1.6 million viewers.

In 2017 she created Uk'Shona Kwelanga, a WhatsApp drama series for Sanlam. The project earned her Writing Craft Gold at the Loeries and later won two awards at BookMarks2018: Silver for Integrated Mixed Media Campaign and Gold for Bots, Messaging & Dark Social. Ndaba’s work continues to span a wide range of South African television and theatre.
