Room to Move
"Room to Move" is a pop song written by Simon Climie, Rob Fisher, and Dennis Morgan. It first appeared on Climie Fisher's 1987 debut album, Everything.
In 1988, the track was remade by the new wave band Animotion for their 1989 self-titled album. The single was released in February 1989 and reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Animotion's second and last US top-ten hit after "Obsession" (1984). The lead vocals on the Animotion version are by Cynthia Rhodes and Paul Engemann. The song was also featured in the 1988 sci‑fi comedy My Stepmother Is an Alien.
Musically, it is a new wave/dance-rock track, about 4 minutes and 37 seconds long. It was released on Polydor Records, with writing credits to Climie, Fisher, and Morgan, and produced by Steve Barri and Tony Peluso. The B-side of the single is "Send It Over."
