2022 Canadian honours — a brief overview

Honours in Canada are usually announced around New Year and Canada Day and published in the Canada Gazette. The first appointments to the Order of Canada for this period were announced on December 29, 2021.

In 2022:
- Johnny Nurraq Seotatituq Issaluk’s appointment to the Order of Canada was terminated. The Governor General signed the ordinance on August 31, 2022, and the notice appeared in the Canada Gazette on October 15, 2022.
- The Order of Nunavut was not awarded in 2022.
