Rocky Mountain Wings Ridge Runner is a family of American high-wing, single-engine airplanes designed by Stace Schrader and built for amateur builders by Rocky Mountain Wings in Nampa, Idaho from 2000 to 2018. The first Ridge Runner was created to meet the FAR 103 ultralight rule, aiming for an empty weight under 254 lb and using a small 28 hp Rotax 277 engine in its lightest form. The aircraft features a high-wing, strut-braced design with conventional landing gear. The fuselage can be a powder-coated 4130 steel tube frame with doped fabric, and the wings use aluminum spars with fabric covering. Kits include many pre-fabricated parts, with estimated build times of 250–600 hours depending on options and builder experience. Ridge Runner 1 was a single-seater, followed by Ridge Runner 2–4. In total, 68 Ridge Runner 1, 15 Ridge Runner 2, 59 Ridge Runner 3, and 4 Ridge Runner 4 kits were built. After a lawsuit and disputes in 2018, the company closed, production ended, and its website was taken down by June 2019.
