Logan Mankins
Logan Mankins is a former American football guard who played 11 NFL seasons, mainly with the New England Patriots. Born on March 10, 1982, in Catheys Valley, California, he went to Mariposa County High School and played college football at Fresno State. He earned first-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors and was a second-team All-American in 2004.
Drafted in the first round (32nd overall) by the Patriots in 2005, Mankins moved to left guard and quickly became a regular starter, starting all 16 games as a rookie. He stayed a standout lineman for years, earning seven Pro Bowl selections (2007, 2009–2013, 2015) and a first-team All-Pro honor in 2010, along with multiple other All-Pro nods. He helped the Patriots reach two Super Bowls (2007 and 2011), though they lost both.
In 2014, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after refusing a pay cut, playing two seasons there before retiring on March 7, 2016. Mankins was later recognized on several Patriots and NFL All-Decade and anniversary lists.
Off the field, his family has continued his athletic legacy, with his son playing football at the University of Rhode Island and another child involved in college athletics, while his daughter played softball at Bentley University.
