Aland is a town and taluk in Kalaburagi district, Karnataka, India. It serves as the headquarters of Aland Taluk and was formed in 1952 as a town municipal council. The town is about 683 kilometers from Bengaluru, the state capital, and 43 kilometers from Kalaburagi, the district headquarters. It lies near the Maharashtra border, about 85 kilometers from Solapur. Aland sits at about 17.57°N, 76.57°E, with an elevation of around 480 meters, and covers an area of 8 square kilometers. The taluk is bordered by Kalaburagi Taluk to the east, Afzalpur Taluk to the south, and Basavakalyan Taluk of Bidar district to the northwest.

The region has a dry climate with low rainfall. Many people live in poverty, and water shortages, limited educational facilities, and few job opportunities have pushed many residents to move to cities. Power cuts are common. There have been numerous farmer suicides, and overall development is slow with high unemployment. Some measures place Aland among India's least productive tehsils in revenue, employment, nutrition, industry, and agriculture.

As of the 2011 census, Aland had a population of 42,371, with about 51.6% male and 48.4% female. The literacy rate is 49.4%, below the national average of 59.5%; around 55% of men and 40% of women are literate.
