Rien is a studio album by guitarist Noël Akchoté, with Erik Minkkinen and Andrew Sharpley. It was recorded October 1–3, 1999 at Eisbach Studios in Munich and released in 2000 on the Winter & Winter label. The 67-minute set is improvised jazz and was produced by Stefan Winter. In Akchoté’s discography, Rien comes after J’en Doute Encore (Notes sur le Travail) (1999) and before Simple Joseph (2001). All compositions are credited to Noël Akchoté, Erik Minkkinen, and Andrew Sharpley.

Reception
AllMusic’s Brian Olewnick noted that Akchoté sublimates his technical skills into ambient, guitar-texture sounds reminiscent of extended techniques used in free improvisation, calling it a potentially rewarding direction. All About Jazz’s Glenn Astarita said the album moves slowly and can be tedious in the midsection, though it has intriguing moments; overall it may not sustain strong interest throughout.
