1963 LPGA Championship
The 1963 LPGA Championship was the ninth edition, played October 10–13 at Stardust Country Club in Las Vegas on a par-71 course. Forty-seven players competed with no cut over 72 holes. The total prize fund was $16,500, with the winner taking $2,450.
Mickey Wright, who had an 82 in the second round, shot 70 in both the third and final rounds to finish at 294, 10 over par. She won by two strokes over Mary Lena Faulk, Mary Mills, and Louise Suggs. Defending champion Judy Kimball finished six behind, tied for ninth.
This win was Wright's second major of the year and the 11th of her 13 major titles, as well as her 13th LPGA Tour victory in 1963. Stardust hosted the LPGA Championship for the third time in six years; the course later became Las Vegas National Golf Club in 1998.
