The Watch Below
The Watch Below (1966) is a science fiction novel by British author James White. It tells the story of a colony of humans stranded underwater inside a sunken ship, surviving in air pockets, and a water-breathing alien species searching for a new home. The two generation ships meet in Earth's ocean. Algis Budrys, writing for Galaxy Science Fiction, praised the novel, calling it the first generation-ship story to expand on Heinlein's Orphans of the Sky.
