Richard Addai
Richard Addai (born 27 July 1986) is a Ghanaian footballer who played as a forward. He spent the early part of his career with Aduana Stars (2006–2011), helping them win the Ghana Division One League Zone I and earn promotion to the Ghana Premier League in the 2008–09 season. He scored important goals, including a decisive winner against Universal Stars on 19 August 2009 and Aduana’s first top-flight goal on 17 October 2009 against Hearts of Lions, and he contributed to Aduana’s maiden GPL title in 2009–10. In February 2011 he was suspended by Aduana for allegedly assaulting assistant coach Ben Zola.
He then joined Bechem United for the 2011–12 season, where he became Bechem’s top scorer with 11 league goals and helped the team earn its first points in the top division. In August 2012 he signed for Accra Hearts of Oak on a three-year deal, but limited playing time led him to return to Aduana Stars in July 2013.
In 2015 he played for Hearts of Oak against Aduana, scoring in the 83rd minute, though Hearts lost 3–2. Later that year he scored for Aduana against Bechem United to help them climb the league table. Addai spent his career in Ghana, playing for Aduana Stars, Bechem United, and Hearts of Oak.
