Rhys Smith

Rhys Smith (born 13 March 1997) is an English field hockey midfielder who plays for Hamburger Polo Club in Germany's Bundesliga and for the England and Great Britain national teams. He was educated at Whitgift School in South Croydon, London, and later studied at Durham University.

Club career: East Grinstead (2013–2015), Durham University (2015–2018), East Grinstead again (2018–2019), Wimbledon (2019–2023), and Hamburger Polo Club (since 2023).

International career: He made his senior international debuts in October 2018—for Great Britain against Belgium on 2 October and for England against France on 16 October. He previously played for England and Great Britain at under-21 level (23 caps, 2015–2017) and has been part of the senior England and Great Britain teams since 2018 (17 caps, 0 goals). He won a bronze medal with England at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
