Consulate General of Nigeria, Frankfurt

The Consulate General of Nigeria in Frankfurt is Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Germany. It was established in 2013 and is the first and only Nigerian consulate in Europe. It is located at Weissfrauenstrasse 12, Frankfurt 60311, and is led by Consul General Yakubu Dadu.

Jurisdiction and community
The consulate serves Nigerians in five southern German states: Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, and North Rhine-Westphalia. Major cities in the area include Düsseldorf, Heidelberg, Wiesbaden, and Dortmund. There is a large Nigerian community in Germany with many professionals and organized groups.

Services offered
The mission provides four main consular services: passport services, visa services, emergency travel certificates (ETCs), and citizenship services. Passport applications are submitted online, and biometric enrollment is also done online after payment. A Nigerian passport typically takes about 10 weeks to process. The ETC is for Nigerians abroad who need a one-way trip home due to lost or expired documents or other urgent circumstances. In 2021, a temporary 30-day passport was introduced to replace ETCs in some cases. Citizenship services include age declaration, burial transit permits, change of profession, citizen identification and registration, and corporate registration.

Hours and accessibility
The consulate is open Monday to Thursday, 10:00 to 15:00 for processing documents and 15:00 to 17:00 for collecting documents. The mission is not open to the public on all days.
