Recycled Plastik
Recycled Plastik is a minimal techno EP by Plastikman, the alias of Richie Hawtin. It was released in 1994 on Novamute Records and recorded at UTK in Windsor, Ontario. The EP lasts 49 minutes and 43 seconds and sits between Sheet One (1993) and Musik (1994) in Plastikman’s discography. It’s best known for the track "Spastik," Hawtin’s most famous Plastikman piece that has long excited fans. The other five tracks maintain Hawtin’s signature sparse, precise style. Critics note that while Recycled Plastik isn’t as thematically unified as some Plastikman releases, it effectively showcases "Spastik" and helps set the stage for the upcoming Musik album. The liner notes credit Richie Hawtin as producer.
