Stéphane Rotenberg
Stéphane Rotenberg (born 21 September 1967) is a French journalist and television presenter. He was born in Lens, in northern France. His grandparents were Polish: his father’s parents were Polish Jews who worked as miners, and his mother’s parents were Polish Catholics who came to France for work. The family moved to Paris when he was about two and a half. He left school in 1985 to start a career in journalism and trained at a radio school to gain internships.
From 1991 he wrote for sport magazines such as Sport Auto and L’Auto-Journal, and contributed to VSD, Vogue Hommes and Libération. In the mid-1990s he worked as a reporter and editor on Turbo on M6. In 1998–1999 he was editorial director of magazine programming for France 2 and helped launch several programs. In 2000 he hosted V6 on AB Moteurs and joined M6, hosting Normal / Paranormal. In 2001 he hosted Comme à la télé on Match TV. In 2003 he hosted Bachelor, le gentleman célibataire, the French version of The Bachelor, continuing through 2004–2005. He also hosted Stars intimes in 2003.
From 2006 he presented shows on M6, including Pékin Express, which he hosted across several seasons from 2007 to 2011. In 2009 he co-hosted Total Wipeout on M6. In 2010 he began hosting Top Chef France, and he hosted its first four seasons through 2013. In April 2012 he hosted the 8th season of Pékin Express, Le passager mystérieux, and in 2013 the 9th season Le coffre maudit. During filming in the Philippines he had a motorcycle accident but was not seriously hurt and continued hosting.
