2007 CONCACAF Champions' Cup
The 2007 CONCACAF Champions' Cup was the 42nd edition of the region’s top club football competition and also served as the qualifier for the 2007 FIFA Club World Cup. It ran from 22 February to 25 April and featured eight teams from six associations. The final was held at Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca, where Pachuca defeated Guadalajara on penalties after a 2–2 draw on aggregate, winning their second title. Guadalajara, as runners-up, earned a spot in CONMEBOL’s 2007 Copa Sudamericana.
The eight clubs were Pachuca (Mexico), Guadalajara (Mexico), Houston Dynamo (USA), D.C. United (USA), Puntarenas (Costa Rica), Olimpia (Honduras), Marquense (Guatemala), and W Connection (Trinidad and Tobago). They qualified through various achievements: Pachuca as 2006 Clausura champion; Guadalajara as 2006 Apertura champion; Houston Dynamo as 2006 MLS Cup champion; D.C. United as 2006 MLS Supporters' Shield winner; Puntarenas as UNCAF champion; Olimpia as UNCAF runner-up; Marquense as UNCAF third place; and W Connection as 2006 CFU Club Championship winner.
Across 14 matches, 38 goals were scored (about 2.71 per game). The top scorers were Omar Bravo and Luciano Emilio, with four goals each.
Note: A first-leg match on 14 March 2007 was postponed due to a weather-induced power outage.
Pachuca’s victory earned them a place in the 2007 FIFA Club World Cup.
