Dr. Ramesh Chandra Parida, born on 4 January 1947 in Jamapara, Kendrapara district, Odisha, is an Indian chemist, academic and writer. He was a professor of chemistry at the College of Basic Science and Humanities, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, retiring in 2007.

He studied at Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, earning a BSc (Hons) in 1966 and an MSc in Chemistry in 1968. He earned his PhD from Utkal University in 1990 for work on Rice Protein, publishing about 20 papers on the subject.

Parida also worked as a scientist at Regional Research Laboratory Jorhat in 1983 and served as Principal of Aeronautics College, Sunabeda (1988–1990).

Besides his research, Parida is a prolific popular science writer in Odia and English. He has written more than 90 popular science books and thousands of articles. He edited science magazines such as Bigyan O Paribesh Barta, Science & Environment Bulletin, Bigyan Prabha, and Bigyana Diganta, and he has been a member of the Odisha Sahitya Academy. He is married to Dr. Kanakalata Parida.
