Mel Lewinter
Mel Lewinter (born 1941) is an American music industry executive. He is the executive vice president of label strategy at Sony Music Entertainment, a role announced by Doug Morris in October 2011. Lewinter has held senior posts at several major labels, including Warner Music Group, MCA Music Entertainment Group, Universal Music Group, and Sony. He has served as vice chairman of the Atlantic Group, chief operating officer of Warner Music Group, and executive vice president of Warner’s U.S. division. He was also chairman and CEO of Universal Motown, and later chairman and CEO of Universal Motown Republic Group.
