Hydrotelluride
Hydrotelluride, or tellanide, is a chemical species that contains the [HTe]− ion, meaning a hydrogen atom is bonded to tellurium. HTe behaves like a pseudohalogen. Compounds with the Te–H group are called tellurols. Tellanide is the IUPAC name from the Red Book, and hydrogen(tellanide)(1−) is another name that appears in some sources. In ligand terminology, ditellanido is used for the HTeTe− ion, while tellanido as a standalone ligand is not commonly named. Hydrotellurides are generally unstable at room temperature and tend to decompose around 116 °C.
