Committee for Melbourne is a non-profit, apolitical, member-based group based in Melbourne, Australia. It was founded in 1985 by Pamela M. Warrender. In 2004, the Melbourne Prize Trust was created as an initiative of the Committee.

The aim of the Committee is to help Melbourne’s long-term future by bringing together business, universities and non-profit groups to work on projects, network, and offer policy advice to government. Its goal is to keep Melbourne one of the world’s most liveable cities.

The Committee has influenced major city projects like the Melbourne Docklands development and runs smaller programs such as the Melbourne Green Roofs program, Melbourne Open House, and Melbourne’s Moving Galleries.

Its work is measured in three areas: private sector collaboration, creating new organisations, and shaping government policy. The Committee also gives the Melbourne Achiever awards to recognize notable contributions.
