Raireshwar
Raireshwar is a fort town in Bhor taluka, Pune district, Maharashtra, India. It is about 82 km from Pune and sits on a plateau among hills, including Kenjalgad. Raireshwar Fort was an important stronghold in the Maratha Empire. The area is famous for its seven-colored soil, a geological curiosity. The Raireshwar temple, a very old stone temple on the plateau, was rebuilt in the 18th century. The temple is linked to Shivaji Maharaj, who is said to have taken the oath of Hindavi Swarajya there. The fort and plateau are popular for trekking and camping, especially during the monsoon when flowers bloom. Nearby places to visit include Gomukh Lake, Nakhinda (Aswal) Lake, and Pandavleni. Visiting Raireshwar is easy by road from Pune.
