Marcio Cerquinho
Marcio Leite Cerquinho (born June 16, 1980, Manaus) is a former Brazilian curler and curling coach. He represented Brazil in the World Mixed Doubles Championship three times (2017, 2018, 2019), with best finishes of 17th in 2018 and 26th in 2019. He and his partner Aline Santos finished 2nd in 2016 and 1st in 2017 at the Brazilian Mixed Doubles Championship. In the 2018 Americas Challenge, Brazil played a best-of-five series against Team Glenn Howard but did not reach the playoffs. In 2019, he and Luciana Barrella finished 26th at the World Mixed Doubles Championship.
In 2021, Cerquinho was charged with child sex crimes in New Westminster, British Columbia, which he denied at the time. In 2023, he pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual interference involving an 11-year-old girl. Outside curling, Cerquinho is a software developer. He worked at the Vancouver Curling Club until October 2019 and, in March 2020, helped open Arena Ice Brasil, a 3-sheet curling rink in São Paulo.
