Bridgetown is on the left bank of the River Dart in Totnes, Devon, England. It grew after the town built its first bridge over the river. The river runs through a valley, and Bridgetown sits on the south‑east slopes opposite Totnes. St John’s Church serves the area and is part of the Totnes with Bridgetown parish. The community includes a village hall, two large grassy play areas, a dental clinic, a farm, an artisan chocolate shop, two small corner shops, a Chinese takeaway, one pub with its own brewery, Longmarsh (a riverside path used for military training), a rowing club, a caravan park and a veterinary clinic.
